It’s too easy for us as mothers to feel that we need to be perfect. But that isn’t possible or even the best thing. Be sure to read “Enjoy Being a Good-Enough Mother!” to see why a “perfect” mother isn’t actually what we should want to be.

I love the quote “OF COURSE I’d like to be the ideal mother. But I’m too busy raising children.” From the comic strip The Family Circus by Bil Keane.

“The Ideal Mother” Word-Art Freebie

I created a word art freebie based on the Bil Keane Family Circus quote “OF COURSE I’d like to be the ideal mother. But I’m too busy raising children.”

For printing, feel free to download the word art freebie without watermark. If you’d like to share the image online, please use the image with the watermark. Of course, I always appreciate when you link to my post and Facebook page, too. :)

before this year of blogging, before coming to know so many amazing mothers, I never would’ve understood that quote. I would’ve read it, and smiled, but I wouldn’t have gotten it – not like I do now. Real mothers are too busy, too involved, to nurturing, too caring, to be too perfect. And that’s a perfection all of its own. I hearted this – thank you – made me smile. God bless and keep you and each and every one of yours Deb.

Thanks, Craig! It’s so true that not being perfect has its own perfection. God bless and keep you and yours, too! 🙂

When I learned that saying sorry to my kids for my mess ups was not a sign of weakness for them to hone in on, but teaching them humility – I relaxed into being a good enough awesome mom! Which, shocking!, I was all along!
