Kudos to fitness blogger Cassey Ho for taking a stand against body shaming and cyberbullying. It’s exciting that she’s made a powerful statement in a video that’s gone viral.

Cassey Ho’s Stand Against Body Shaming and Cyberbullying

Cassey Ho would like everyone to share her video to battle body shaming and cyber bullying.

Here’s Cassey’s video:

“Fitness Star Cassey Ho Takes on the ‘Perfect Body'” by Sara Bliss at Yahoo Beauty gives a good overview. What happens with Cassey’s follow-up photo is fascinating (and disturbing).

Take a Stand Against Body Shaming and Cyberbullying

Even before I started blogging, I was concerned about body shaming and cyberbullying. At that time, I saw body shaming within the figure-skating community. It was sad and frightening to see some figure skaters develop eating disorders because of negative comments from coaches or others in the skating community.

And I was upset about the cyberbullying I saw in figure-skating forums. In fact, my third blog post here was about that topic: Yay for the Thumper Theory: “If You Can’t Say Something Nice . . . Don’t Say Nothing at All.”

Since then, I’ve written a number of posts about both body image and being kind online.

These are issues that are important for us not only as adults but (especially) as parents or teachers with children who are or will be online. Our world’s children need to know that body shaming and cyberbullying are not acceptable. And they need to know that we’re working to protect them from body shaming and cyberbullying.

Here are some resources about body image and anti-bullying. (Each post has multiple resources within it.)

I hope we can take a stand against body shaming and cyberbullying together.
