Changing Negative Body-Image Messages to Positive Body-Image MessagesIf you saw my post last week, you know that my daughter and I are combining Operation Beautiful and 100 Acts of Kindness Project. We’re spreading kindness and trying to help change females’ negative body-image messages to positive body-image messages.

Blogger and author Caitlin Boyle’s Operation Beautiful book site says this about the start of Operation Beautiful:

“Tired of watching women pick themselves apart in front of the mirror, blogger Caitlin Boyle scribbled a note on a Post-it: “YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!” and slapped it on the mirror of a public bathroom. With one small act, she kick-started a movement. In a matter of days, women were undertaking their own feats of resistance, posting uplifting notes on gym lockers, diet shakes in supermarkets, weight-loss guides in bookstores, and anywhere else a nagging voice of self-criticism might lurk.”

Caitlin has lots of helpful resources about body image on her “Change The Way You See – Not The Way You Look!” page.

Here’s the current Operation Beautiful video:

My daughter, Christina, has a post about positive self-talk at Fit Body Full Life: Tell Yourself You Can Do It!

I have lots of resources about body image in my “Helping Mothers and Daughters Have Healthy Body Images” post.

Note: I have lots of word-art inspiration at the Bits of Positivity Facebook page and on Pinterest!
