Kindness elves made a huge and welcomed entrance last Christmas season, thanks to The Imagination Tree. Last year I had a post introducing and giving ideas for kindness elves: “Using Variations of Elf on the Shelf to Encourage Kindness.” Today, I want to share some more ideas and resources, including free printables, for using kindness elves to encourage kindness at Christmastime. What a fun way to help kids develop character!

Note: Kindness elves don’t fit with the Montessori principle of focusing on reality for young children. I’m a progressive Montessorian, so I don’t strictly follow that principle. I did always emphasize that Santa and elves were just fun stories at Christmastime, which worked well for my family. Just do what works best for your own family.
