Kindness elves made a huge and welcomed entrance last Christmas season, thanks to The Imagination Tree. Last year I had a post introducing and giving ideas for kindness elves: “Using Variations of Elf on the Shelf to Encourage Kindness.” Today, I want to share some more ideas and resources, including free printables, for using kindness elves to encourage kindness at Christmastime. What a fun way to help kids develop character!
Note: Kindness elves don’t fit with the Montessori principle of focusing on reality for young children. I’m a progressive Montessorian, so I don’t strictly follow that principle. I did always emphasize that Santa and elves were just fun stories at Christmastime, which worked well for my family. Just do what works best for your own family.

These are adorable! I’m not sure why I fell in love with the family portrait of the peg dolls. I think they remind me of those willow carved figurines! Just precious.

Oh, I’m going to have to use some of these with the Elf on the Shelf my daughter was given yesterday!! I have tried to avoid the Elf on the Shelf. I like this twist though. Thank you for sharing at Sharing Saturday!!
