Hunger Awareness Activities for Kids

September includes both Hunger Action Month and September 11’s National Day of Service and Remembrance. May 28 is World Hunger Day. In honor of those observances, I want to share some ideas of hunger awareness activities for kids.For the last few years, I’ve enjoyed participating in Moms Fighting Hunger and No Kid Hungry activities during September. I’ve been amazed at all the creative ideas I’ve seen online for helping kids get involved.

Toddler Approved decorated a “big bag of love” and filled it with food for the local food bank.

Fun-a-Day! wrote about a Fun Run linked to Feed America.

Pennies of Time had a hunger dinner.

Feeding America has free toolkits for children and families.
