Your Life Is an Occasion

Suzanne Weyn wrote one of my favorite quotes in the book Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium. Dustin Hoffman says the words in the movie Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium: “Your life is an occasion. Rise to it.”

Some thoughts are simply mind boggling, mind expanding. That quote is one of them. It makes me contemplate what I should be doing to properly celebrate and honor my life. Am I truly living life to the fullest? Am I making a difference in the world?

“Your life is an occasion. Rise to it.” What a great thought for both athletes and non-athletes. It really puts things into perspective, doesn’t it?

Dustin Hoffman says the words in this scene from the movie:

This video captures the essence of the quote. It’s a 12-year-old pianist who learned to play “Night Time” by ear after watching Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium four times.

Thanks for your comment! That’s very impressive, though. I (and many others) can really only play piano by reading music. I hadn’t met someone from Morocco before – what fun getting to know you! Have a wonderful weekend!
