I’m one of those people … yes, those people who are more interested in the Super Bowl commercials than the Super Bowl game. I consider the Super Bowl commercials mini laughter vacations. (“Laughter is an instant vacation.” Milton Berle)
This year, my husband and I were lucky to spend Super Bowl Sunday with our kids/kids-in-love in San Diego. Terry, Will, and Tom watched the Super Bowl while Christina, Chea, and I had some girl time. Christina, Chea, and I just saw part of the Super Bowl, so I watched all the Super Bowl commercials online this week. I asked for everyone’s favorite commercials. We all tend to especially like the funny ones. And our favorites this year were all family friendly.
Family-Friendly Super Bowl Commercials
Updated: Super Bowl commercials keep being taken off YouTube, so I’m finally just adding the YouTube search for “family-friendly Super Bowl commercials.” You probably should preview them first to be sure they actually are family-friendly. There are always some great commercials!

And sometimes, they are even more interesting and talked about than the bowl itself.

Thanks for your comment, kc! That’s so true … I definitely talk about the commercials much more than I talk about the Super Bowl. 🙂

I appreciate your effort at highlighting some funny, family-friendly commercials from the Super Bowl. Unfortunately, it seems that the notion of Super Bowl TV viewing and family-friendly is quickly becoming an oxymoron. And I am saddened by that because I always thought of spectator sports as an wholesome alternative to a lot of what is going on TV.

Thanks so much for your comment, Joyce! I totally agree. It would be nice if they made all the Super Bowl commercials family-friendly. It really makes one wonder where things went wrong.

My favorite was one in 2012 where a small boy (dressed as Darth Vadar) thinks he is controlling family’s new Volkswagon Passat. Actually his dad is controlling the start up of the car with the remote!

Hey Deb,
My favorite was the Clash of Clans one with Liam Neeson. Maybe because I haven’t watched many yet and too lazy to sit down and watch alot of them. Will just wait for the next Super Bowl and will watch this commercials in real time.
