The upcoming holiday season can seem overwhelming in many ways. I like the idea of working to find balance in your own life before the start of the main holiday busy-ness. A 30-day challenge with the focus on your fitness and/or nutrition can be a good way to increase your energy level and feel good about yourself when December begins.
30-Day Nutrition and Fitness Challenges
{Updated for 2016}
Even if you’re already very busy, you can improve your nutrition and/or fitness easily by following the 30-Day Nutrition Challenge and/or 30-Day Exercise-a-Day Challenge from Fit Body Full Life. In 2014, I did the 30-Day Nutrition Challenge where I set my own goal, which was to include fruits and/or vegetables in at least 4 meals/snacks each day. I successfully accomplished that and became much more focused on eating a healthy amount of fruits and vegetables each day.
For this 30-day challenge, I plan to drink organic vegetable juice one or more times each day to add more micro-nutrients into my diet. Even on Thanksgiving Day, that’s something I can do to improve my nutrition while still enjoying the holiday.
The 30-Day Exercise-a-Day Challenge just involved doing an exercise to a video, which was typically 2 minutes each day. That was easy to accomplish, and I learned some new exercises and became more focused on interval training and exercising for short amounts of time each day.
Since I did my first 30-Day Exercise-a-Day Challenge, I’ve been doing Christina’s dance workouts. I’m planning to do my 30-day challenge with at least one dance workout each day. On November 2, I’ll get lots of exercise when I participate as part of the Fabulous Chitwood Ladies Team in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure!
30 Days of Beautiful Nails Challenge
Christina has a 30 Days of Beautiful Nails Challenge on Christina Chitwood Performance. If you’d like to have beautiful nails for the holidays (or any time), be sure to check out Christina’s 30-day series.
30-Day Challenges
I’ve been enjoying doing 30-day challenges off and on for over 3 years now. A 30-day challenge is my favorite way to start a new, positive habit. You can read more about 30-day challenges in my 30-Day Challenge category.
Tips for Feeling Holiday Joy
When you do want to think about December holidays, you’ll find some ideas here for keeping the season in perspective: Spreading Christmas Cheer This Holiday Season. My category of Christmas posts is focused on feeling joy rather than stress. I hope you find some ideas that work for you.
