Honor can be a difficult concept for children (and adults) to understand. Yet it’s an important one.
So, instead of just sharing songs about honor, I’m sharing a variety of honor resources for various ages: definitions of honor, videos for an honor unit study, videos with ideas on how to teach honor, and honor songs (a variety of religious and Native American honor songs). I also have a post with lots of remembrance and honor resources for Memorial Day or Veterans Day/Remembrance Day.
See my virtues unit studies for unit studies that include honor along with other positive character traits.

Drumhop.com tells about Native American music. It defines an honor song: “This type of song carries special meanings. Every song is different, but all has a similar purpose. When an individual or group has done something noteworthy, or even has had hard times, they may honored by another. In this case, a special honoring song would be sung for those people, much like a veteran’s song is sung to honor veterans.”
Mi’kmaq Honour song “All sounds in this song are performed by children’s voices, ages from 9 to 18 years. Magaliesberg Kinderkoor is conducted by Hannelie van Sittert.”
