We all have bad habits we want to break and good habits we want to build throughout the year. That’s typically not an easy task. I’m excited to have found an easy way to change habits!

Break Bad Habits and Build Good Habits the Easy Way

While no way of changing habits is totally easy, I’ve found that some new digital tools can make the process easier than ever before.

Ultimate Health and Fitness Planner

I’m using my favorite digital tools for my latest 30-day challenge (to simply add a number of  good habits). If you follow my blog, you know that I LOVE 30-day challenges. I used one of my favorite digital tools for a weekly meal-planning challenge.

By using my daughter’s awesome Ultimate Health and Fitness Planner 2016 (which is all digitally fillable), I’ve been able to do weekly meal planning for the first time in my life! The planner can be used for many types of planning and goals, but my favorite uses are the weekly meal planning and the weekly grocery shopping list. For the grocery shopping list, I just tick off the items I need, take a photo of my digital list with my iPhone, and check my iPhone photo at the grocery store.

Fitbit

The Fitbit is simply genius! Such a great way to encourage anyone to get in more steps. My favorite ways to use it are to track steps and track sleep.

Way of Life App – The Ultimate Habit Maker & Breaker

Way of Life App - The Ultimate Habit Maker and Breaker

Another genius digital tool! This is so easy to use.

You can track 3 items with the free version of the Way of Life App. For $4.99, you can get the premium version to track an unlimited number of items of any kind. You can track bad habits you want to break and good habits you want to build. It’s so simple to just click yes or no to indicate whether you did the habit each day.

According to the Way of Life App site, here are the app’s features:

  • Bar charts with trend lines
  • Pie charts
  • Tagging
  • Skipping
  • Sharing
  • Archive completed goals
  • Scoreboard for instant feedback
  • Multiple daily reminders
  • Note-taking capability
  • Updating takes less than a minute a day
  • Backup/Restore via Dropbox
  • Interactive walk-through
  • Unlimited items (free version is limited to three items)
  • Export to Dropbox, E-mail or another App as a CSV or Excel file.
  • Passcode lock

The charts all become available instantly through your simple clicks yes or no.

I’d love to hear if you have a favorite digital tool for changing habits. And I always love to hear about your 30-day challenges! :)

Great list. One thing that I think often leads to bad habits is to allow yourself to be overwhelmed as an excuse to avoid action. That touches in a few different areas of the list, but essentially what it comes down to is that people know they have to make changes, but because they can’t even begin to know where to start, they end up doing nothing, which just allows the problem to continue.

Great article. I too use a Mi Band 2 and find the result and tracking top class. I had a habit of geting up late and was able to do away with that. My next target is to start jogging and walk regularly to remain fit.
